OBDSTAR DC706 Full update subscription cost: Get 40% discount when purchasing your update subscription within 7 days of the expiration date or before the subscription expires. The cost is 179USD/Year. Over 7 days, charging at the original price of 249USD/Year.  Since it bounces off a server, you will lose functionality without the updates. The good news is that one cloning operation will cover the update cost if you plan ahead.

• Does not clone VAG DQ250 before the year 2008. 
• The device comes with English only. 
• Please register the device to download the software before using it. Registration Instructions (same as other OBDSTAR tablets)
• OBDSTAR DC706 Distributor code is 0086A002.
• Don’t use the tablet charging cable as your power supply !!! For BENCH & BOOT (workbench) operation, please use a reliable high-power DC regulated power supply (current not less than 5A) to power the ECU. OBDSTAR’s standard power adapter (current 2A) is only used for device charging and is not recommended for the ECU.

OBDSTAR DC706 vs I/O Terminal:

The DC706 is easy to set up and operate, with clear instructions that include real ECU photos and detailed pinout diagrams, along with step-by-step guidance for each procedure.

It receives regular updates and supports more GM and Ford BCM functions. Compared with the I/O Terminal tool, the DC706 offers better overall performance, including GM BCM virginizing, mileage correction, and PIN code reading directly from the device—making it well worth its $1400 price.
