The MS906 Pro offers four convenient methods for vehicle identification: Auto VIN Scan, Manual VIN Input, Automatic Selection, and Manual Selection. These options allow technicians to quickly identify the vehicle and access all diagnosable ECUs, enabling comprehensive diagnostics on the selected systems.

With its bi-directional control capability, the MS906 Pro can send commands to vehicle systems and components, allowing users to actively test functions and monitor operating conditions in real time. This feature helps technicians quickly pinpoint faults and verify repairs, making troubleshooting faster and more efficient.

Bi-Directional Control – Precisely Locate Car Problems

Featuring bi-directional control, the Autel MaxiSYS MS906 Pro Bluetooth diagnostic scanner can send commands to a vehicle’s ECUs, read ECU data, and monitor actuator performance in real time. Through active tests (actuator tests), this advanced diagnostic tool allows technicians to accurately identify vehicle issues by checking whether specific systems, components, or subsystems are operating correctly, helping speed up troubleshooting and repairs.

• For example, if a fuel pump is not working and leads to ignition failure, it could be a faulty pump, wiring, relay, or command. By turning the fuel pump on and off via the MaxiSys MS906 Pro, you can quickly determine whether it’s a wiring, relay, or pump issue without removing any parts.
• Here are some other examples of active tests, which help you locate faults in the shortest time, saving time on troubleshooting:

1. Cycle the a/c clutch on and off;
2. Switch the interior lights on and off;
3. Active tests for inside mirrors, exterior mirrors (high version only), adaptive headlamp, steering wheel heating, windows, wash/wipe system, horn, reset starter lock, etc.

AutoAuth Access: Bypass SGM in FCA Vehicles

With the 2022 version of the Autel MS906 Pro scan tool, users can access the Security Gateway Module (SGW) on 2017 and newer Fiat Chrysler vehicles. This capability allows the diagnostic tool to perform advanced functions such as clearing fault codes, running bi-directional active tests, performing actuations and relearns, IMMO key programming (including PIN reading and key writing), and assisting with ADAS calibration, providing broader service coverage for modern FCA vehicles.

Autel has made this process very simple to access with 3 simple steps:

1. Authorize: Register an AutoAuth account online via diagnostic tablet or computer.
2. Confirm: Register your Autel diagnostic scanner under your AutoAuth account. Follow the diagnostic procedures in scanner and log in your AutoAuth account.
3. Access: Now you have immediate authorized gateway access to FCA SGW-equipped vehicles. Note that the diagnostic scanner needs to have the latest software (valid software subscription is required).

Advanced ECU Coding for High-Level Repairs & Customization

Unlike the MS906, MS906S, MP808K, MP808BT, and MP808BT Pro, the Autel MS906 Pro is equipped with more advanced ECU coding capabilities, enabling technicians to unlock hidden features, customize OE settings, and optimize vehicle performance.

1) ECU Coding – After repairing or replacing control modules, the MS906 Pro can match and code them for proper operation and personalization. If code data is lost, the tool can download online data from the server and perform coding via the Internet to restore full vehicle functionality.

2) Personalization Features – This functionality expands repair shop services by allowing technicians to flash hidden features, such as deactivating auto start-stop, silencing chimes, or eliminating injector buzz sounds, while also unlocking premium functions like enabling auto start-stop, customizing interior lighting, setting US-style daytime running lights, or automatic door locking at specific speeds. These features are especially suitable for VW and BMW vehicles.

3) VAG Guided Functions – The on-screen OE-level guidance simplifies complex procedures, reducing diagnostic time. It offers broad compatibility with VW, Audi, Škoda, and Porsche models.
