Autel MK908 II Full Bi-Directional Control:
1) As a professional-grade car scan tool, MK908 II has full Bi-Directional Control over vehicle-specific subsystems and components like ABS, SRS, window, door and roof.
2) Available tests vary by manufacturer, year, and model, and only the available tests display in the menu. During a Bi-Directional control test, the tester outputs commands to the ECU in order to drive the actuators. This test determines the integrity of the system or parts by reading the engine ECU data or by monitoring the operation of the actuators, such as switching a solenoid, relay, or switch, between two operating states.
Autel MK908 II ECU Coding Capability:
This function enables you to establish a communication link with the vehicle’s electronic control systems through the VCI device for diagnostics, maintenance, and programming. It allows you to perform functional tests, access diagnostic information such as fault codes, event codes, and live data, and carry out ECU reprogramming. The tool supports multiple vehicle systems, including the engine, transmission, ABS, and other key control modules, providing comprehensive vehicle analysis and servicing capabilities.
NOTE: The ECU programming function can only be applied through connection with the J2534 programming device (Autel MaxiFlash Elite), which serves as a Pass-Thru interface to establish communication with and transfer data to the vehicle's ECU. ECU programming functions need to buy an Autel MaxiFlash Elite separately. Connect it to MK908 and update the scanner to a MK908P.
ECU Coding is different from ECU Programming. And ECU Coding is NOT universally compatible.
What's the difference between coding and reprogramming?
A. Coding – Also referred to as the Teach-in Program, Component Adaptation, or similar functions, coding is used to update or relearn adaptive data within vehicle control modules after components have been repaired or replaced. This ensures the new parts are correctly recognized and function properly within the vehicle system.
B. Reprogramming Operations – This function downloads the latest software updates from the online server database via an internet connection and installs them onto the vehicle’s ECU. When the MaxiSys display tablet is connected to the internet, the process is performed automatically, ensuring the ECU is updated with the newest available software version without the need for manual subscription checks.
