1. GT100+ adds Electronic Current Display
The GT100+ features an Electronic Current Display, allowing users to monitor the current when connecting an ECU module on the bench using the banana connector or DB25 dedicated ECU adapter.
Advantages of the Current Display:
Users can instantly see the ECU’s current status.
If there is no current reading or the value is inconsistent with expectations, it may indicate a wiring issue, or if the wiring is correct, a potential ECU fault—eliminating the need for diagnostic communication before repair.
Excessive current readings can help identify incorrect cable connections or a damaged ECU, allowing for faster troubleshooting and more efficient repairs.
2. GT100+ Adds CANBUS Protocol Communication
The GT100+ supports pins 1, 3, 8, 9, 11, 12, and 13 (corresponding to the yellow banana connectors on the device), which are non-standard OBD2 protocol interfaces. Unlike the original GT100, which can only display K-Line, PWM, VPW+, and KWP2000 protocols, the GT100+ can display CANBUS, K-Line, PWM, VPW+, and KWP2000 communication protocols, providing broader compatibility for ECU diagnostics and testing.
3. Reset Instrument/Immobilizer When All Keys are Lost
When you want to program a key for VW, Porsche, Mitsubishi and other cars with all keys lost, or to program the Toyota ECU, you need to activate the dashboard (reset instrument) or wake up the immobilizer module first. Then you can operate directly by using GT100 GT100+.
a. To replace the engine ECU of Toyota or to use a key programmer to program Toyota when all keys are lost, it requires short-circuiting PIN13-PIN4
b. To program the Mitsubishi key with all keys lost or to set OBDII when all remote keys are lost, please short-circuit PIN1-PIN4.
c. For Porsche and VAG 4th/5th generation keys (e.g., new A6L, Touareg, A4, Q5, A7), use the GT100+ to short-circuit banana connector PIN 16 to PIN 1 to illuminate the dashboard. Afterward, connect your key programming tool to the female adapter of the GT100+ to collect data. Note that some vehicle dashboards may not light up, but data collection can still be performed, such as with the A6L and Q7.
